The American author was born on May 9, 1972, in Evanston, Wyoming, United States of America. Her full name is Dana Marie Perino. She spent her childhood in Denver, Colorado.
Similarly, Dana was born to Leo Perino and Jan Perino. Leo is the person who drove her to follow an interest in news and politics from an early age. Her paternal great-grandparents were immigrants from Italy.
The American national went to Ponderosa High School in southeast Denver and later attended Colorado State University. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in in mass communications and a minor in political science and Spanish.
Furthermore, the Wyoming native obtained a master’s degree in public affairs reporting from the University of Illinois Springfield and worked as a reporter covering the Illinois Capital.

The American national is married to her wonderful husband, Peter McMahon. The lovely couple met for the first time in August 1977 on a flight from Denver to Chicago.
Perino and McMahon had conversations during the journey, and she started to feel drawn to him. After that, the attractive pair started dating.
About 11 months after they first met, she relocated to England, and they eloped. Her parents did not know about the wedding until they went to England a few weeks later.
Talking about Peter, he completed his education at St Joseph’s College, Dumfries. Similarly, he began his professional career with Codman (J&J) in 1982 and worked there until 1988.
Furthermore, after spending over ten years working for multiple companies, Dana Perino’s husband became the owner of Icon Medical in 1999. He left the company in 2016. Since 2013, he has sat as president of GreenSleeve Medical Corp.
The couple has no children but is parenting a pet dog, a Hungarian Vizsla named Percy. The couple adopted the dog in late 2021.

The American citizen has worked with various politicians in the United States of America. She first became the associate director of communications for the White House CEQ in 2002.
Similarly, in August 2007, the Wyoming native became the White House Secretary of Press and assistant to then-president George W. Bush.
President Barack Obama nominated her in November 2009 as a member of the Broadcasting Board of Governors, responsible for government-sponsored foreign broadcasting. The Senate confirmed her nomination on June 30, 2010.
