William John Donovan Jr. is a professional NBA coach who was also formerly a basketball player. Known more as Billy Donovan, the 56-year-old has been serving the Chicago Bulls since September 2020 as the head coach. Previously, he coached the Oklahoma City Thunder for five years.

Besides his remarkable career as a head coach in the NBA, he has a lovely family and is a proud father of four. Thus, we will be knowing more about Billy Donovan’s son, William Donovan III.

Eldest Son Of His Parents

Billy Donovan enjoys a blissful married life with his wife, Christine D’Auria Donovan. The couple got married on August 5, 1989, after dating for over a year and have been married for thirty-two years since then. Three years later, in February 1992, William Donovan III, aka Billy Donovan III, was born to the couple as their eldest child and eldest son. Well, William has three younger siblings.

Two years after welcoming William to the Donovan family, a daughter was born to the husband-wife duo. Christine and Billy Donovan’s second child, Hasbrouck Anne Donovan, was born in March 1994. Then, on January 6, 1997, their third child, son Bryan Donovan, was born. Lastly, the pair’s youngest daughter named, Connor Donovan arrived in 2002.

Christine had also given birth to another child named Jacqueline Patricia Donovan in November 2000. Sadly, the baby girl was delivered stillborn.

Was Also A Coach

Willian Donovan III has played basketball since he was young. Well, it isn’t surprising, considering his father is a legendary NBA coach. He played the sport at St. Francis Catholic High School in Gainesville, where he was a starter for four years. Furthermore, the 30-year-old was named the team MVP in his first, second, and senior year.

After completing high school, Billy Donovan’s son continued to play basketball at the Catholic University of America. However, William later transferred to the University of Florida, where his father was serving as the head coach. He joined the Florida Gators as a walk-on reserve guard.

William was selected as the head coach for his alma mater, the St. Francis Catholic High School’s basketball team, on March 23, 2016. In addition, he worked for the San Antonio Spurs as a guest coach in the G-League for the 2019-2020 season.

The talented young man went on to work under his father as an assistant coach for the Chicago Bulls in 2021. William Donovan is currently working as a video coordinator for the Bulls.

Billy Donovan’s Son Is Married

Besides his coaching career that is gradually building up, William is a loving husband to his wife, Lauren Donovan. Lauren, whose maiden name is Lauren Stockham, attended the University of Florida. She has a Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism, specializing in recreation and event management.

William Donovan III’s wife worked as an Association Manager at the Conference Catalysts LLC for over a year. Currently, she is working at the same place but as an Executive Manager.

The husband-wife duo hasn’t revealed when they first met or began dating. However, it seems the couple got closer in college as both attended the same university and graduated in the same year, in 2015. Nonetheless, two years after they graduated, the pair got married on July 15, 2017, in Newberry, Florida.

From what we could find, the couple doesn’t seem to have any children together. The lovebirds seem to want to keep their married life out of any limelight. Hopefully, the pair will be willing to share more about themselves in the future.
