Jeff Mullins’ Son Took Over the Stable While He Was Suspended
In January 2023, the California Horse Racing Board fined Jeff Mullins Jr.’s father $1,500 and suspended him for 15 days after the horse he trained, Inch, tested positive for clenbuterol.
Inch, the 2017 son of Violence, achieved a victory in the sixth race on August 25, 2022, at Del Mar. However, during the post-race test result, the bronchodilator was found in his system.
Jeff Mullins Jr.’s dad got into mutual release and a settlement agreement with the CHRB, which resulted in a 30-day suspension and a $1,500 fine initially. Later, it was reduced to 15 days.
The second 15 days stayed on the condition that Mullins does hot have any type of medication violations of class 1, 2, and 3 until January 8, 2024.
Jeff served his suspension from January 9 to January 23, 2023; during that time, his son took over the stable.
