Margaret Melinda Williams-Purce was born on September 18, 1995. She was raised by her dad James Purce and mom in Silver Spring, Maryland, United States, alongside her brother JP Purce. Purce was heavily influenced by her brother and started playing soccer very early. Even though Midge was smaller than the other children at the time, her ability was noticeable.

The young athlete enrolled in Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic High School in Olney, Maryland. She was included in NSCAA All-American in 2010 and 2011 and won the Maryland Gatorade Player of the Year award in 2012.

Margaret Purce played for the Harvard University women’s soccer squad, the Harvard Crimson, from 2013-2016 and had an outstanding collegiate soccer career. Furthermore, she made 69 appearances, tallied 42 goals, and received two Ivy League Player of the Year awards in 2015 and 2016.

Margaret Purce has a fantastic professional National Women’s Soccer League career. The Boston Breakers chose Purce as ninth overall in the 2017 NWSL College Selection. Since then, she has become a regular in the league. Purce solidified her attacking abilities while playing for the Portland Thorns, netting five goals in just five games at one point.

In addition, the American athlete was acquired by Sky Blue FC in 2020, a club that was determined to make great use of her attacking skills.
