New Mexico prosecutors claimed that Hannah was probably hungover when she put a live round in the revolver. If you don’t know, Alec Baldwin accidentally shot a cinematographer during his movie Rust’s filming.
Baldwin used the same gun during the rehearsal that took the life of the film’s cinematographer.
Prosecutors leveled the accusation on June 2023 after the weapons expert’s attorney filed a motion to dismiss her involuntary manslaughter charge.
Furthermore, It was said that Gutierrez-Reed should “finally be held accountable” because of her history of careless behavior. The court documents mentioned that she was drinking and smoking marijuana during the same day of Rust’s shooting.
Hannah’s Drug Use: Likely Evidence At Trial
The former armorer of Rust is set to go for trial for the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on February 21, 2024, in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Gutierrez-Reed failed to have the case dismissed a week before the upcoming trial in her latest efforts. Further, the trial will now include her drug use and hangover issues.
Similarly, a recent critical hearing occurred where Lawyers sparred on the admissibility of some evidence, such as Gutierrez Reed’s text messages.
Furthermore, that text showed Reed using drugs in her off-hours while the movie was in production outside Santa Fe, including the night before the fatal shooting.

Is There Any Witness Or Evidence To Prove Their Accusations?
Well, the prosecution intends to call a witness in an attempt to substantiate the claimed drug use. An acquaintance said that Hannah gave her a little bag containing a white substance for safekeeping a few hours after the sheriffs took her for questioning after the shooting.
However, Santa Fe County sheriff’s deputies did not get any proof of drug use during their investigation. So, Gutierrez-Reed attorneys argue that the state has no evidence to support their claim.
