He was born and raised in Michigan along with his elder brother, Richard DeVos III, aka Rick DeVos, and his two sisters, Elissa DeVos and Andrea DeVos, aka Andrea DeVos Abraham.

Furthermore, his brother also went to the same school. On the other hand, Ryan DeVos’ sisters were home-schooled.

After completing high school, Betsy DeVos’ son went to Rollins College in 2009. He was on the college’s sailing team and was a skipper. He graduated in 2013 with a degree in International Business. Having received the degree, he must have carved out an exciting niche in the family business.

After graduating from college in 2013, in July of the same year, Ryan began working as a Coordinator for the National Basketball Association (NBA). He worked there for two years and eight months until February 2016. Then, in October 2016, he joined the Orlando Magic NBA team as a Strategy Specialist.

Moreover, in July 2017, Betsy’s baby boy was promoted to the Director of Magic Gaming. His responsibility was to handle the roster of professional video game players of the franchise. When NBA was shut down in the spring of 2020 due to the quarantine, viewership increased by twofold thanks to live streams on ESPN 2, the ESPN app, and ESPN.com. In 2021, Ryan was promoted to the Vice president of shareholder engagement of the Magic.

Additionally, Mr. DeVos sometimes serves his alma mater on the Department of Business Advisory Council. There, he worked as a mentor in the Career Champions mentorship program and with the new Rollins esports team.

Betsy and Dick DeVos have raised wonderful kids, and they seem to be doing well. Also, besides Andrea, three other DeVos siblings live a low-key lifestyle. Likewise, Ryan also keeps most of his personal life away from the media limelight.
