Jimmy Houston’s daughter, Sherri Houston, grew up seeing her parents, Jimmy and Chris, fishing in a bass boat in various lakes around their place. She accompanied her mom and dad in the boat while they fished before taking part in several tournaments. Sherri learned the tricks and techniques of fishing from her pro fishing parents and is currently outgrowing their shadows as professional anglers.

Among numerous competitors, Sherri’s mom, Chris Houston, also competed against her in fishing tournaments. The first time Jimmy Houston’s daughter, Sherri, faced her mother was in the women’s bass fishing championship, Bass’n Gal Classic. Sherri finished 17th and her mom, Chris fifth. In shootout during the Lake Tenkiller Bass’n Gals tournament in spring of 1989, she finished 22nd and Chris 10th.

To date, the beautiful daughter of Jimmy Houston has finished ahead of her mom more than five times in a couple of seasons on Bass’n Gal Trail. However, the mother-daughter duo never battled it out for the same spot in the standings. Sherri Houston-Combs is the only daughter of two of America’s top bass fishing professionals, Jimmy Houston and Chris Houston. The Houston couple welcomed their daughter, Sherri, in the late 1950s. Growing up, she completed her elementary schooling at Keys Public School in 1978. Then, Sherri joined Tahlequah High School in 1979 and graduated from there in 1982. Similarly, Jimmy Houston’s daughter, Sherri Houston-Combs, graduated in Accounting, Marketing, and Management from Northwestern State University in 1983.
