Hope Davis’ partner, Jon, was born in 1968. He grew up in New Haven, Connecticut as the only child of Bruce E. Walker and Ann Adams Walker. Sadly, Jon Patrick Walker’s parents were divorced and have already passed away. His mom passed away on October 27, 2011, after a vigorous battle with ovarian cancer at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Furthermore, Hope’s mother-in-law was a highly respected social worker who worked in clinics, hospitals, and private practices.

On the other hand, Jon Patrick Walker’s father passed away on June 2, 2022, at the same place where his mother died. He was a beloved teacher at Wightwood School. In addition, as per Hope Davis’ father-in-law’s obituary, he has two other children, Richard Dove and Emily Dove Haygood.

It must have been difficult for Jon to lose both of his parents. He often shares several pictures of them on his social media. Moreover, he scattered his mom and dad’s ashes at Seawall on Mt. Desert Island.

The then-young boy spent several hours spinning the records and learned to read, trying to convert the lyrics printed on the inner sleeves of the Beatles’ “1967-1970” massive hits double LP.

Four years later, Walker began his piano lessons, and it was not that long before he wrote his first ever song. It was a ballad of loss and heartbreak named I Was In Love (Why Did She Have To Die?). Hence, a songwriter was born. Jon Patrick (JP) performed in many high school bands, and all of them featured original tunes written by him. When he went to college, he took a different subject but continued making music in his leisure time. There, also he performed as a drummer in different bands and even started to learn guitar.

After moving to New York, JP continued songwriting as it gave him his greatest fulfillment. However, throughout his 30s, Hope Davis’ husband could not make time for songwriting and making music. But, when his mom passed away in 2011, the loss caused him to do some soul-searching. That’s when Jon realized how much he missed making music and the need to focus on that part. So, the following year, he traveled to Nashville and made his debut album, The Guilty Party, released in 2013.

Besides being a musician, Hope Davis’ husband has also made his name in the acting world. When he was eight years old, Walker made his professional stage debut and has been working as an actor since then. He has appeared in on-and-off Broadway, on television, and in films.

As mentioned earlier, Jon mainly focused on making music at Cooperative High School. He then attended Carnegie Mellon University and majored in drama. After graduating in 1990, he moved to New York and began pursuing an acting career. Throughout his 30’s, Walker made his name in the entertainment world through several roles.

In 2006, Hope’s partner made his Broadway debut by playing Bruce Springsteen in High Fidelity. The following year, he also made an appearance in a workshop staging of Pete Townshend‘s new rock opera The Boy Who Heard Music. In addition, he has portrayed several other Broadway roles.

To talk about his movie and television series appearance, JP made his television debut in Empty Nest. Similarly, Jon and Hope welcomed their second baby girl, Mae Walker, on December 30, 2004. Jon Patrick Walker and Hope Davis’ children are in their late teens. In addition, the elder Walker sibling is the class of 2025 at Carleton College.
