Michigan was pitted against the mighty Washington in the finals of NCAA football. It was an important match in the history of the team, as the win granted them their first national championship since 1997.
On Monday at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, Michigan defeated Washington 34–13 thanks to their devastating running attack and swarming defense.
The matchup between the two teams was all about Michigan’s celebrated defense, number one in the country, versus the Heisman trophy finalist Michael Penix Junior.
However, the winning team was able to put a break on Penix’s prowess and forced two interceptions. While the Huskies were losing their edge, Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards of Michigan scored two touchdowns each.

Michigan Wolverines were ahead of their opponents for the entirety of the match. But, with about five minutes remaining, the Wolverines needed one final play to snatch the victory away from the Huskies.

And who other than a first-team all-big ten selection, Mike Sainristil, will play that role? Mike Sainristil interception against Michael Penix Junior and running all the way to the Huskies’ 8-yard line was a treat to watch.
After two plays, Blake Corum scored a 1-yard touchdown run to increase Michigan’s lead to 34-13, effectively sealing the Wolverines’ first national championship since 1997. Sainristil’s sixth interception of the season sealed the victory.

What was the Aftermath of the Game?
The stunning victory resulted in the Wolverines becoming champions after twenty-five years. The players were happy and enjoying the moment. Michigan fans cheered for their players and congratulated them on their victory.
