During a Q&A session before UFC 297, Sean challenged MMA journalist Alexander K Lee when he asked the fighter about a contentious tweet he had sent out in 2021.
Before the reporter could finish his question, Strickland launched into a gnarly rant. Further, he even seized the opportunity to criticize Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The former UFC middleweight champion has said numerous controversial things in the past. But this time, he might have crossed a line of two regarding the gay and trans community.
Sean said that being transgender was a mental illness in the past, but now people are showing no problem revealing their sexual preferences.
Similarly, the reporter who introduced himself as an ally of the LBGTQ community received degrading comments such as:
‘You are a weak man, you are the problem, you are the infection, and everything wrong with the world is because of you.’
Yes, one of the most popular UFC said all those things while displaying a T-shirt that said ‘A Woman in Every Kitchen.’ Previously, he made remarks about women fighters, saying how most people do not enjoy watching those “girly” fights.
Sean Strickland Anti LGBTQ Comments In the Past
In the past, when Strickland was asked what he would do if he had a gay son, this was his reply.
The American national said that if he had a gay son, he would think that he failed as a man to create such weakness.
Sean continued by saying that he genuinely believes in the equality of homosexual men. He added gays have it made as they are content and get to spend all day having intimate relations with their buddies, while straight males have to do some serious work.

The people, especially some media, are not happy with Sean Strickland anti LGBTQ comments. They mentioned that he should be punished for what he said.
Similarly, UFC CEO Dana White mentioned that the reporter’s question baited Strickland. Further, White mentioned that he could not control what the fighters say during the interviews and he does not give anyone a leash.
