Known for his lifelong commitment to the Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team, Jim Boeheim is a college basketball coach and a former basketball athlete. The coach, whose birth name is James Arthur Boeheim Jr., has been with the Syracuse Orange team ever since his playing days.

After graduating from college, Boeheim started working as a graduate assistant coach for the Syracuse Orange and was soon promoted to full-time. Finally, after a few years, in 1976, the icon was hired as the head coach for the team.

Aside from his successful career, Boeheim enjoys a blissful life with his wife and kids. Today, we will know more about all four of Jim Boeheim’s children.

Father Of Four

As mentioned before, the coach has four children. Two of Jim Boeheim’s kids are sons, named Jimmy Boeheim and Buddy Boeheim, and two are daughters named Elizabeth Boeheim and Jamie Boeheim.

Boeheim welcomed Elizabeth into his home when he was still married to his ex-wife, Elaine Boeheim. The rest of the children, son Jimmy and twins Jackson Thomas “Buddy” Boeheim and Jamie, were welcomed by Jim and his second wife, Juli Boeheim.

Jim Boeheim’s Daughter Elizabeth Was Adopted

Elizabeth is the eldest child and daughter of Boeheim and his ex-wife, Elaine. However, as the title suggests, she is not related to the coach by blood. Jim Boeheim’s daughter was adopted by him and his then-spouse in 1985. She was only a week old.

After graduating from Jamesville-Dewitt Central School District, Jim Boeheim’s baby girl was accepted to Syracuse University. However, after much thought and consideration, Elizabeth chose to attend and graduate from a private liberal arts school, Colby College. She then pursued a master’s degree at the University of Montana, where she also taught English.

Elizabeth, who also goes by Liz Boeheim, met her biological parents when she was 25 years old and often visits her relatives. She wanted to meet them as soon as she turned 18; however, being afraid of rejection, the 36 years old waited four more years. Her biological father’s name is Henry, who is a lawyer.

Jim’s little girl currently lives in Missoula, Montana.

Jimmy and Buddy Followed In Their Father’s Footsteps

Jim and his wife, Juli, had their first child, son Jimmy Boeheim, in May 1998. He got his high school education from Jamesville-Dewitt High School.

Then, Jim Boeheim’s eldest son attended Cornell’s SC Johnson College of Business at Cornell University, where he completed his bachelor’s degree in science with great distinction. He is pursuing a master’s degree in instructional design, development, and evaluation at the Syracuse University School of Education.

Jimmy, much like his father, is a famous basketball player who currently plays for the Syracuse Orange team. Furthermore, his younger brother, Buddy, also plays for the same team.

Born Jackson Thomas Boeheim, Buddy is the second son of Jim Boeheim and his wife, Juli. His parents welcomed him on November 11, 1999, along with his twin sister, Jamie. He also attended the Jamesville-Dewitt High School but transferred to Brewster Academy during his senior year. Currently, Buddy attends and plays at Syracuse University.

Jim Boeheim’s boys are following in his footsteps and are very committed to playing for the Syracuse Orange team, where he serves as the head coach. Jimmy and Buddy, together, are well-known as the Boeheim brothers.

Jamie No Longer Plays Basketball

Jamie is the youngest one among Jim Boeheim’s children. As mentioned earlier, she is the twin sister of Buddy. Like her brothers, Jamie attended the Jamesville-Dewitt High School, where she lettered in basketball, swimming, and lacrosse for the Red Rams.

After high school, Jim Boeheim’s daughter attended the University of Rochester in 2018, where she continued playing basketball for a year. Sadly, Jamie decided not to play anymore after her freshman year. Instead, she quit playing the sport and remained as a manager for the team in her sophomore year.

However, when the pandemic hit, Jamie quit being the manager as well. After that, she interned at Sandra Pomeroy Treatment Center and Crouse Health’s Bill, where she worked with and helped substance-misuse patients.

Although Jim Boeheim’s little girl still loves and has a solid connection to the sport, she isn’t interested in playing it anymore. Instead, it seems she has found a new passion in helping people who need mental help. Jamie is currently applying to several grad schools to become a mental health counselor according to CNYCentral.

It seems all of Jim Boeheim’s children are doing well in their own way. Nonetheless, we hope all the kids will be successful and happy even in their upcoming days.
