Celebrities That Have Made It Into the Guinness World Records

The Guinness World Records (GWR) was established on August 27th, 1955, and lists extraordinary people and natural extremes. Some people endeavour to perform extraordinary feats in an attempt to become part of these records and be forever commemorated by people worldwide. Some celebrities have held records either by chance or deliberately. 

Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo is the world’s most loved footballer. His antics on and off the football field influence Europa League predictions today. Football and non-football fans are intrigued by his success and his personal life. He broke the Guinness World Record for the most Instagram followers of all time with 425 million followers. Today, his following has increased to a staggering 451 million. We expect he’ll hold this title for some time since Kylie Jenner, who’s second in line, has only 345 million followers to date.

Kobe Bryant

Born on August 23rd, 1978, the late Kobe Bryant held the Guinness World Record for the youngest NBA player ever to start a game when he played for the LA Lakers on January 28th, 1997, against the Dallas Mavericks. He was only 18 years and 158 days old at the time. His record was overtaken by Andrew Bynum, who featured in an NBA game on November 2nd, 2005, at the tender age of 18 years and six days.

Jackie Chan

Jackie Chan movies have some of the most entertaining and intricate action stunts. Jackie is known for doing all his stunts in the over 100 movies he has starred in. In 2013, he was listed in the Guinness World Records for the most action stunts completed and the most credits by a living actor. 

Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence is listed in the Guinness World Records as the most successful actress of all time in action movies. She featured in the Hunger Games, which has grossed close to $3 billion to date. She also starred in the X-Men franchise of movies which has grossed $6 billion to date.

Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne Johnson has two Guinness World Records under his belt. He and his team of four produced the largest layered dip in 2017. Unfortunately, their record was broken in 2020 by BUSH’s Beans, who constructed a phenomenal 1,087-pound layered dip. The dip had seven layers, and it took more than five hours to construct in a 100-gallon aquarium and weighed a massive 540 pounds. 

Dwayne also held the Guinness World Record in 2015 for the most selfies taken in three minutes. He took an amazing 105 selfies after the release of his movie San Andreas. His record was broken by James Smith, who showed us 168 selfies in three minutes in 2018.

Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber has quite a few Guinness World Records. He held the record for the most disliked video of all time. His official VEVO video for the song ‘Baby’ was released on YouTube in 2010. By 2011 the video had been watched by his fans 575,118,703 times and received 1,490,076 dislikes. 

He also set the Guinness World Record for the most streamed track on Spotify in a single week. The track ‘What Do You Mean’ was played on Spotify more than 30,000,000 times in just six days. His ‘Purpose’ track got an astonishing 205 million watches in one week on Spotify. 

Justin had another Guinness World Record with his ‘Despacito’ remix he made with Daddy Yankee and Luis Fonsi. He managed to get the most monthly listeners reaching a staggering 86,179,721 on Spotify.
