It is reported that James and Rebecca are childhood sweethearts. In 1991, James graduated from Cambridge University as an Aerospace engineer, while Rebecca pursued her passion in music. The following year, in 1992, the couple tied the knot and were together until Rebecca’s sudden demise in 2016.

The couple welcomed three children together. After Rebecca’s death, James resigned from Scuderia Ferrari to take some time off work and stay with his family and children in England. After taking some time, Allison returned to Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport as technical director.

Cause Of Rebecca’s Death

Rebecca Allison, nee Martin, was the daughter of Philip Martin and Valerie Martin. She was born in 1968. Rebecca also has a sister, Sarah Martin, who is a general practitioner. Rebecca was passionate about music from very early on in her life. She was known to have a beautiful mezzo-soprano voice. Allison chose to be a music teacher rather than pursue her career as an opera singer.

Along with two other opera singers, Stephen Barratt and Claire Barratt, Rebecca founded Charity Opera. She was also the soloist of the local choir in Kennington. Everything was going well, then the unfortunate events followed. Mrs. Allison started facing several health problems, one after another. At first, a virus similar to labyrinthitis attacked her nerve ending, causing tinnitus.

Rebecca thought her singing and teaching career was over, but with the encouragement of her loved ones and with professional help, she didn’t give up. Rebecca’s determination and willingness led her to perform Smoke and Mirrors at the Old Fire Station at Kennington for her friends at Kennington Library. Through grit and determination, Rebecca was doing well, and everything was going smoothly.

But on March 21, 2016, Rebecca Allison passed away from a sudden attack of bacterial meningitis, leaving everyone in utter shock. James lost the love of his life, while his children lost their mother. The loss was heartbreaking to many, and we wish Rebecca’s departed soul rests in peace.

Heartbroken Allison

The grief of losing your loved ones never really goes away. But with time, it does get better. The same is the case for James. After Rebecca’s death, James returned to Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport as technical director and worked there for four years.

In April 2021, Allison joined Mercedes AMG as their Chief Technical Officer. Six months later, it was announced that Allison took on a new Chief Technical Officer role at Ineaos Team UK Britannia America’s Cup Team. For Allison, who has spent 30 years in the world of Formula 1, entering America’s Cup was a new experience.
