Marlena Shaw: At age 81, Shaw, the singer of “California Soul,” passed away on January 19. Meanwhile, her daughter announced the news with a video that was uploaded to Shaw’s official Facebook page, but she did not reveal the cause of her death.
The renowned jazz and soul vocalist started show business in 1952 when her jazz trumpet player uncle encouraged her to perform at the Apollo Theater in Harlem.
Nerene Virgin: Virgin, a Canadian broadcast journalist, host, and actress, passed away on January 15 at 77.
The 1980s generation saw her most famously as Jodie in the television series Today’s Special, which told the story of a department store mannequin that comes to life after closure.
Alec Musser: The actor, who was most recognized for his portrayal of Del Henry in All My Children and for his fleeting but unforgettable performance in the film Grown Ups, committed suicide on January 12.
Musser was fifty years old. Before becoming an actor, he was a model who starred in Abercrombie and Fitch and Men’s Health advertisements.
Lynne Marta: After a fight with cancer, actress Marta, who was well-known for her TV guest stars and minor appearances in movies like Footloose and Three Men and a Little Lady, passed away on January 11. She was 78 years old.

Harry Johnson: Johnson, a seasoned actor who starred in popular TV series like Law & Order and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, passed away on January 2 after an extended health condition. He was eighty-one years old.
Glynis Johns: At the age of 100, Johns, who portrayed devoted suffragette mother Winifred Banks in the first Mary Poppins film, passed away on January 4.
Adan Canto: Canto, a Mexican-born Texas native, passed away on January 8 from appendiceal cancer. Well, his most well-known roles were in X-Men: Days of Future Past and Designated Survivor.
