Denise Huskins is an American author and survivor who was the highlight of the national news after her kidnap, called Gone Girl Kidnapping, in 2015. Today, she is living a happy life with her partner Aaron Quinn.

Let’s find out what happened to Denise Huskins kidnapper Matthew Muller and where he is today. Further, we will briefly explain the kidnapping and release.

What Happened With Denise?

In March 2015, armed intruders woke up Denise Huskins and her boyfriend, Aaron Quinn, in the middle of the night.

The young couple was shackled with zip ties by the claimed scuba suit-wearing burglars, who then pushed them into a closet in Aaron’s Vallejo, California, house.

They were given drugs, blindfolded, and given blacked-out goggles in the closet. They were informed that the assailants belonged to a highly skilled, disciplined squad that gathered debt.

The intruders intended to take Denise hostage and release her once Aaron paid a ransom. Denise’s kidnapper drugged her and twice sexually assaulted her while holding her captive in a secluded place.

On March 25, two days later, she was freed close to her mother’s Huntington Beach, California, residence.

What Happened To Denise Huskins Kidnapper?

The couple did not get any justice after their nightmare initially; instead, it took three months and a lucky finding.

In June 2015, information related to Denise and Aaron’s case was discovered in the possession of Matthew Muller, an immigration attorney with Harvard education and a former Marine, by authorities investigating a case involving a disguised intruder in Alameda County.

In 2016, Muller entered a guilty plea to a single federal kidnapping charge. He received a 40-year prison term.

The state also charged him with kidnapping, two counts of forced rape, robbery, and burglary. However, he was determined to be mentally incapable of standing trial in November 2020. But, Matthew has not revealed the exact motive behind this crime.
