Nathalie Gave Birth To Four Kids
As stated above, Mario Lemieux has been happily married to Nathalie Asselin, and they together have four children. Mario Lemieux’s wife first became a mother after giving birth to their first child Lauren Lemieux in April 1993.
Then, two years later, in 1995, Nathalie and Mario welcomed their second child, Stephanie Lemieux. On March 24, 1996, she gave birth to their third child and first son, Austin Nicholas Lemieux. She had given birth to him three months before the due date, and at the time of birth, he weighed only two pounds and five ounces. Austin spent his first 71 days in the hospital.
In 1997, the couple’s daughter Alexa Lemieux arrived. The Lemieux family has been living a wonderful life in the affluent Pittsburgh suburb of Sewickley.

Mario Lemieux’s Wife Has Been Involved In Many Organizations
Super Mario is doing great in his professional career, and he has earned huge fame and fortune to his name. The player has also been involved in charitable causes and has established the Mario Lemieux Foundation.
Mario Lemieux’s wife, Nathalie Lemieux, is the vice president of the foundation. The foundation works to fund medical research projects and even supports different other organizations like the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, the Children’s Home of Pittsburgh, the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine, and the Lupus Foundation.
As stated above, Nathalie and Mario’s son, Austin, spent 71 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as he was born prematurely. At that time, she and her husband realized that while they were taking care of Austin, their elder kids had nothing to engage.
Thus, Natalie was inspired by the experience and created Austin’s Playrooms. It is an initiative that created playrooms for children and families in medical facilities. It provides a safe, engaging, and fun atmosphere for kids while their families and parents focus on healing in the face of challenging medical conditions.

There are currently 40 Austin Playrooms throughout the region. Moreover, Nathalie also serves on the board of the Carnegie Hero Fund Commission. Because of her works, she received the Leadership Award from the American Society of Interior Designers in 2012. Similarly, on behalf of the foundation, she received Pennsylvania West Chapter for Austin’s Playrooms.
Nevertheless, Nathalie seems to be doing great professionally. Let’s hope she continues the good work and makes a good name for herself in the future.
